The electric motorcycle market in Africa has soared by 113%!
发布时间:2025-07-28
According to the Roselake African Venture Capital public account (July 18, 2025): In Kigali, Rwanda, motorcycle drivers ferry passengers along the streets. Chinese-made electric motorcycles have become the production tools for these drivers. Motorcycles have become a means of livelihood for over 5 million people in Africa. This is largely due to the rise of e-commerce logistics in Africa and the prosperity of the ride-hailing market. Africa is witnessing an electrification transformation in transportation. Rwanda is investing 300 million US dollars to convert 100,000 fuel-powered motorcycles to electric ones. Kenya has waived the import tax for electric motorcycles, and Uganda has legislated to fully achieve the electrification of its public transportation system by 2030. Currently, the annual compound growth rate of the electric motorcycle market in Africa exceeds 7.8%, and the market size is expected to increase from 17 billion US dollars in 2025 to 28.3 billion US dollars in 2030. Africa will become one of the fastest-growing green transportation markets in the world.
